375mL bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a tiny head. Aroma of dark berries, quite dry with light honey. Flavour is very complex, with loads of elegant pure blackberries, light-to-medium sweetness for a mead, and alcohol. It's like drinking a blackberry pie filling. Quite dry, and almost with a lightly tart berry note. Really well-made stuff. Excellent stuff.

375mL bottle, pours a clear pale yellow with no head. Nose is holy ginger, with no hint of honey at all, just potent ginger (like sushi pickled ginger), with dishwasher and toilet disinfectant. Flavour brings out a bunch of these things, with urinal pucks, dishwasher liquid, toilet disinfectant and chemical ginger. What a strange mead - the honey isn't really noticeable other than contributing some sweetness to balance out the weird chemically notes. The ABV is not noticeable at all somehow. Strange stuff. Doesn't seem to live up to the hype of Schramm's.

Bottle at Chateau Jackl, thanks to our host with the most, 13/08/14. Rich Ribena berry red with moderate off white edgeing. Nose is big on blackcurrants, big dollop o’honey, menthol notes, jammy berries, sugar. Taste comprises sweet berry fruit, rich blakcurrant jam, honey, sweet licks. Full bodied, viscous feel, sweet tones and warming alcohol in the close. Good mead action.

375 ml bottle thanks to _angst_! 14% ABV, sampled on August 21, 2014.Clear birch sap or light oxidized inside of pear color, no head. Some slow running legs on the glass. Sweet honey, spicy ginger, perfume, rose petals, slight of lime scent. Sweet, honey, ginger, perfume taste. Honey, ginger aftertaste. Some heating alcohol.Fruity, sweet, fresh, refreshing, spicy, warming character.Smooth easy drinking mouthfeel, a bit of heat from the ginger. No bitterness. Nice and highly drinkable, though you notice the alcohol it is very enjoyable for sure.Excellent one!The slightest bit sparkling on the tongue. A bit too sweet, a bit too much heat, a bit too much alcohol.

Bottle received in trade. Thank you lionsandbeer! Pours very tiny cloudy pale pale golden with no head. Smell is sweet and spicy with high quality honey, freshly peeled ginger, minerals, lemongrass, minerals and hints of hay and lemon zest. Taste is very sweet, tiny bitter and spicy with tons of honey, dried ginger, nutmeg and hints of lingonberries and lemon zest. Mouthfeel is slightly round, sticky sweet, tiny spicy astringent, slightly spicy hot and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and spicy with honey, ginger, minerals, lemon grass and hint of ginger bread, lingonberries and bergamot. Slightly too heavy on the sweetness but coming over the initial chock lots of complexity reveals itself!

Bottle. Thanks xenix85! Deep murky purple/brown liquid with no head. Aroma of blackberries, cinnamon, honey, sweet alcohol and cardamom. Taste is light sweet with notes of blackberries, light licorice, cardamom and honey. Medium bodied with no carbonation and light sticky mouthfeel. Nice stuff.

Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to Jack. Pours deep purple, engaging. The nose has heavy honey with berry accents, some toasted honey, black currant. Massively sweet flavor with thick honey, tart blueberry, further currants, sticky toasted sugars. Full bodied, oily and chewy. Sticky sweet finish with lots of jammy fruits, nice tart berries. Extremely decadent. I love it.

Bottle big thanks to Jack to the L. It pours deep, deep purple... The nose is sweet, woody, rich, jammy, blackcurrant, honey, vanilla and earth. The taste is slick, fruity, tangy fruits, blackcurrant, honey, jam, mild acidity, wood, warming alcohol, oily and even more jam with a dry, fruity finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich and fruity. Very nice. Delicious.
