On tap at the brewpub. Slightly hazy, reddish amber with a medium large, frothy, quickly diminishing, white head. Sourish-fruity aroma of sour cherries, bitter almond and some oak. Sweetish-sourish, very fruity taste of sour cherries, bitter almond, some oak and a touch of raspberries, followed by a medium long, slightly bitter, yeasty-spicy (clove), moderately tart and a little dry finish. Medium body, tangy and a little astringent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Nice one, would be even better without the yeasty touch in the finish.

0.33 l bottle from ’Drankenservice Françoise’, best before August 2017. Clear, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, stable, tan head. Faint, sweetish-malty and slightly spicy aroma of honey, toffee and hints of bitter orange. Sweetish-malty, slightly spicy aroma of toffee, honey and maybe nuts, followed by a short, medium bitter, slightly spicy finish where the curaçao peel comes through which gives it a nice, refreshing, fruity touch. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Quite okay although the aromas are very faint. At least the fruity-bitter touch in the finish provides for some excitement.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Lightly hazy amber to dark red color, average sized off-white to beige head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly sweet, don’t get any pear but hey the beer is ok.

0.33 l bottle from ’Slagerij De Ridder’ (Ouderkerk), best before November 2016. Clear, reddish amber with a medium large, foamy, stable, tan head. Faint, sweetish-malty, fruity aroma of pear, caramel, red berries and some spices. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, pear, red berries, some licorice and spices, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, spicy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very subdued notes of pear (may be good or bad), not really convincing, still an okay Red Ale with a Dutch touch. Expected more to be honest though.

0.33 l bottle from ’Drankenservice Françoise’, best before July 2016. Clear, golden orange with a medium large, fluffy, slowly diminishing, tan to white head. Fruity, soapy-grassy aroma of lime, grapefruit and lemon peel. Slightly bitter, fruity-grassy taste of lime, grapefruit and lemon peel, followed by a crisp, medium bitter and soapy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft to average carbonation. Quite okay, but somehow I don’t really like it.
