APPEARANCE: very dark amber color and clear against light. slight ruby highlights. medium, creamy, beige to light brown head with good retention. TASTE: initial medium-high roasty flavor (burnt) with a slight sweet coffee profile. medium bitterness. finishes roasty and dry. unbalanced. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium carbonation. Slight astringency. OVERALL: a sweet stout without a decisive sweet counterpoint from lactose to the strong roastiness. needs a revision to its formulation.

TASTE: initial medium-low to low cereal husk flavor with low grainy background. medium-low bitterness with a semi-dry to dry finish. MOUTHFEEL: low body with medium-low carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a lager with execution problems.
