Description
Four Rivers Brewing Co. is a family-owned and operated 15-barrel brewery. As longtime fans of craft beer, and having experienced the allure of freshly produced ales in our neighbouring communities and provinces, we asked ourselves, “Why not us?" So, in 2017, we set out to make authentic, true-to-style ales right here in our hometown of Bathurst.

The name Four Rivers is one inspired by the Chaleur region's coastal beauty, and much like the rivers that converge in the Bathurst Harbour, our brewery is a place of coming together. There’s no denying that the coast is part of our identity, both as a city and as a brewery.

Join us in the heart of downtown Bathurst and experience our delicious, handcrafted ales in the comfort of our warm and inviting rustic tasting room. Cheers!

Dark copper, large beige head. Tasty cereals, nutty, even a touch smoky. Thin mouth feel, lively carb. Pine resin, very roast, caramel malts. Bready, some spruce, medium bitter.

A deep dark brown ipa with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with resinous floral hops, OK. In mouth, chocolate malt with dark fruits, light resinous hops, OK. On tap at The Joyce.

Can. Bright amber. Medium head. Balanced aroma and palate. The latter in particular brings a lot of nuance to the table. Subtle fruits - like, the brewer actually paid attention to the yeast. It's so rare to pick up such a positive yeast character in an APA these days. The malts are sweet, just a touch of sticky, mostly clean and with a touch of bread. The bitterness is moderate, and hop expression is balanced, bringing stone fruits, touch of grapefruit bitterness in the finish. This is a really good take on the original (non-hazy) version of the style.

Dark brown. The aroma hints at sugars, with a thin crackery graininess. Similar palate, maybe with a touch more body, and some nice chocolate notes. More a porter or light stout, but I guess most milk stouts end up disappointing me that way, just being too simple.

Green onion and light marshmallow with a fair amount less strawberry. A little more bitter than most of their stuff. Hazy pour.
