Draught @ the brewpub. Clear golden with a foamy light beige head, faint acidic aroma, medium carbonation, medium tart woodsy taste, citrusy flavor, smooth body, long tart finish. Well balanced and smooth.

Draught @ the brewery, 2025 version. Opaque dark brown with a small frothy tan head, caramel-coffee aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste, woodsy flavor, alcohol undertones, smooth body, long finish with some throatburn. Satifying barrel aged stout, somewhat boozy.

Aroma is caramelly, bready, floral, piney, buttery, alcohol. Taste is highly bitter with a strong caramel malt backbone. Very old school, but not bad.

On tap at the brewery. Quite shabby, buttery caramel tone. Weak brewing. Not that enjoyable. A bad and final introduction to half day beer.

In my tiny taster, it showed a deep black body, with a healthy ring of tan foam. Even if this was not the Bourbon barrel-aged version, I still picked up a light coffee, chocolate and bourbon smell. Smooth bourbon stout mouthfeel, but a bit of coffee and roast malt roughness balances it out. Sample at Rotary Grove Fest, Downers Grove in June 2019.
