Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy amber color. Light aroma of rotten apples. Strong body, it has some residual sweetness, again that feeling of rotting apples, light fruity esters, and a woody, unpleasant bitterness in the final.
Difficult to control high-gravity fermentation…
Not very good.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear cooper / amber with a small beige head. Aroma is subtle, with notes of Belgian yeast and candied sugar. Flavour is nastily sweet, with cloying-as-hell candied sugar and Belgian yeast. Cough syrup finish. Everything I hate about North American attempts at tripels. Nasty amount of residual sugar. Very bad.

Not sure why these guys’ beers get burned so much - they are actually pretty decent on the whole. Hay and some citrus. Hazy amber pour.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out candied sugar, Belgian yeast, some fruity esters and a little alcohol. Flavour is along the same lines, but hotter, with lots of alcohol, Belgian yeast and fruity esters. Shows every tenth of a percentage point of alcohol and then some. Finishes with lots of residual sugars and alcohol. An amateur Belgian Strong, but it's still decent in small amounts. Needs tweaking.

Hazy golden color. The aroma is moderately sweet and malty. It has a food body strength, it’s fairly sweet, but the pale malt flavor justifies that; it has delicate fruity esters and mild yeast character. Correct bitterness, with pleasant alcohol warmth.
I may have had a few Belgian beers like this. A bit heavy, I wouldn’t drink much of it, but quite nice.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Slightly hazy golden yellow with full white head. Citrusy hops, mild pine. Found the alcohol to be a little milder than others. Nice balance, but could be a touch more flavourful.
