Sampled on draft this beer poured a hazy golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was fruity hops and a bit of leather. The flavor was bitter, almost smokey, leathery and had a hint of fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Odd.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a large foamy tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was whiskey, toasty malts, wood and more whiskey. The flavor was whiskey, anise, wood and a bit of cleaning solvent. Long whiskey finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. The whiskey overwhelms the rest of the beer, unfortunately.

The flavor was sweet apple then a bit of astringency followed by strong caramel and cinnamon. Very long finish. Medium body. Quite tasty.
