Not as rude as most plate wrecking black IPAs. Pour is big & black. Slight aroma of BO, like the smell of your mate after good sex. For a change this is more of a black roasted beer than an IPA and I can appreciate that. Yes, Ipa is in there but its not totally IPA then black, its mostly black then has an ipa add on. Not over the top. Not terribly in your face. I enjoyed this up to a point, that is until the old ipa started to build near the finish.

No apparent aroma of smoke nor bacon. Just a big black beer. Low co2, almost flat. Taste is at first quite void of any in yer face smoke attributes, you have to look for them. However, on the aftertaste of each swig the smoke becomes a little more apparent. As the session continues, this building of smoke becomes streaming, but it never gets in yer face. Yes, a well mannered smoked beer. After so many smoked beers that were over the top in bacon and smoke, this is a refreshing alternative. Starts of mild like a friendly porter then evolves into a gentleman smoked. Good beer experience.
