Pour is a almost clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is fruity esters and white sugar. Flavor is pretty much the same fruity yeats esters but this is hella sweet. Lots of white sugar and honey on the finish. Going in the right direction but a bit too sweet.

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2017. Pours a near clear amber gold with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoke note with a bit of grain and straw backing. Flavor has a nice sweet smoke note with grains and straw supporting

Great Taste of the Midwest 2017. A well hopped American pale ale with lots of smoke. Amber color. Hops and smoke work well in this beer. Grass and flowers with smoke. An unusual experiment that worked well.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a semi-dark copper color with a finger’s worth of off white foamy head that slid off and formed some spotty lace.
The aroma had some toast, roasted nuts, floral and piney hops and some earthiness at the end.
The flavor moderately blended the sweet to the roast with the bitterness of the hops making a decent play in the overall scheme of the balance of things. Fairly nice aftertaste of the stated aromas. Finish was somewhat sweet.
The palate was about medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good brown I wish I could get again.
