(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, pale golden with a tall, frothy and creamy white head leaving some laces. Lovely fresh and floral aroma. Medium in body with a solid, sweetish malt base. Dry and fairly bitter finish. Yet another lovely pilsener from Harringtons - a brewery where you get the notion, that they can really perform if they care to. 110208

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a very dark brown with a tint of orange and a neat, dense and retentive, beige head leaving some lacework. Aroma of burned malt and some spices. Quite full-bodied with hard roasted malt accents and then quite some spices: cinnamon is sticking out, but also some cardamom and a sweetish, berry-like edge. Dry and rather malt bitter finish with some alcohol presence also. Quite interesting really. 040208

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear golden with a dense and very white head. Aroma of citrus and a little yeast. Medium body with sweetish fruit, but also notes of yeast, sulphur and some chemical diacetyl notes. Dry finish. Quite drinkable though. 040208

Bottled. A deep red beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel, and so is the flavor primarily, but also with a slight oxidation due to cellaring as some notes of chocolate. Thanks a lot to Jeremy of Den Tatoverede Enke for sharing this.

(Bottle 50 cl) Cloudy, pale golden with a small, white head. Aroma of honey, ginger and oranges. Medium body with rather sweet fruits and honey and also some ginger. Ends fairly dry. Actually quite balanced and refreshing - and very summery. 040208

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, pale golden with a small, white head. Very sweet honey aroma. Medium in body, pale malt accents and otherwise sticky and excessively sweet honey notes making it hard to finish especially since there’s no balancing hops. Honey beers don’t have to be like this. 010208

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, warm amber with a creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. A little aroma hops in the nose. Medium body with rich caramel notes and a dry and fairly hoppy finish. Close enough to style, I just could have hoped for some better and more aromatic hops that didn’t leave this brutal a bitterness. 300108

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, golden with a tiny, rough, white head. A touch of malt in the nose. Light-bodied, high in carbonation with weak notes of malt and a dry finish with only a hint of hops. Overcarbonated as many Harringtons are. 300108

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast and banana and some diacetyl also. Medium body with tart fruit notes, yeast and diacetyl. The finish is dry. I agree with Craig that this is closer to a Tripel than the brewery’s own Saison suggestion. Harrington’s seem a bit confused about this "BelgiUM Tempest" - and a viking ship on the label?? But credit for trying to make a BelgiAN style beer which not many breweris do in NZ. 280108

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, golden with a rough, off-white head that dissipates in no time. Somewhat unclean chemical aroma and some overripe fruit. Thin in body with a heavy carbonation. Not much malt to be detected but a little caramel and some overripe fruit. Almost no hops. I doubt it gets any cheaper than this. 280108
