(bottle) Hazy golden amber with very little head. Not a lot of aroma - slightly metallic with some spices and hints of esters. Medium body with nice smooth carbonation. Flavour starts somewhat sweet caramel, moving quickly to a more aggressive taste profile of spice, alcohol and a somewhat harsh metallic hoppy bitterness. Overall an interesting stronger ale, but a bit unsubtle and unbalanced.

330ml bottle. Clear bronze with an off-white head that’s modest but lasts well. Aroma of sherry, bread, dried fruit, nuts, grass. Quite syrupy, with low carbonation. Rich but not all that sweet, with toasted bread, raisins, caramel, enough bitterness to stop it from being cloying. Alcohol is well-integrated. There’s no great depth here, but it’s pleasant and well-balanced.

Bottle, 11C (bottle advises to serve at room temp _and_ at 4-6C), better as it warmed. Clear brown with an off white head. Aroma of chocolate, toffee and nuts. A little watery and rather overcarbonated for this sort of thing. Modest sweetness with some toffee, a little chocolate and nuts. Balancing grassy bitterness with some cocoa.

(bottle) Very dark ruby with some tan head. Rich aroma: raisins with a hint of funkiness. Full bodied with nice but rather subtle carbonation. Flavour is (and this sounds contradictory) rich in a rather restrained way. Nice balance of sweetness with some bitter burnt / dark roast notes. Pleasant undertones of dried fruit, spice, chocolate and maybe a hint of vanilla. Overall a very pleasant dark ale, but not exceptional.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows caramel and spicy resinous hops. Pretty malty, almost melanoidin-like.Similar malty flavours, more caramel and nutty characters. Finishes with a plain bitterness.Pretty syrupy, thick body, a bit off-putting.

Pretty much exploded upon opening, beer was flying everywhere...Pours gold (after a large clean-up), with a large, fading head.Nose shows bready malt and vegetable notes, along with soft spicy/earthy hops. Pretty boring.Very similar flavours, with bready and cardboard notes alongside the soft spicy hops.Carbonation is too high. The most interesting aspect of this beer is definitely the recreation of Vesuvius upon opening.

Draft. A golden cider with a thin white head. The aroma is dominated by apples. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of apples as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a slightly tart finish. Too sweet for my liking of a scrumpy cider.

Draft. A light golden cider with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of apples. The flavor is sweet and acidic with notes of apples, leading to a lightly tart finish. Quite refreshing, not bad, but not artisanal.
