On tap at the Lumsden. Pours black. Chocolate, cherry, coffee, cream, more chocolate. Nice roasty bitterness along with all that sweet chocolate. A success.

330ml bottle. Drank from bottle. Floral, stone fruit, citrus, an almost almond like note in there. Prominent sweetness, but with almost enough bitterness to clean it up. Nothing too bad.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has liquorice, sweet and toffeeish maltyness, some chocolate and vanilla, hint of alcohol from barrel. Taste has liquorice, coffee, roastiness, storng bitterness that's nicely drying the sweetness. Almost full bodied, smooth. Good beer but more could be expected from the IS.
