Bottle. Hazy brown color. Aroma of caramel, citrus, milk chocolate. Taste is intense caramel and chocolate. Not bad.

Element Altoberfest. One of the Interval Ales. 750 c&c from cakanator. Tag (like a doortag - has 3 autographs) indicates it’s #473 of 530. Bottled on 8/18/2010. Pours deep copper and darkly ruddy with a creamy tan head. Smells of malt and medium dark fruit. Near fully bodied;creamy/foamy carb. It’s very malty and it’s expressing a bit of heat. It’s definitely more bitter than sweet. Seems to have a good dose of hop. Even a bit astringent. Drinking like a dark, but not thick, strong ale. Really good.

Big thanks to big dog kiefdog. Pours mahogany with ruby red edges and nice tan head. The soft aroma is rounded with spicy hops, some roasted malts and earthiness. The taste is an interesting mix with chocolate malts, dark roasted malts, spicy hops and earthiness. Every now and then I get some caramel and sweet malt briefly coming to the surface. Nice easy drinking brew.

750 c&c from cakanator. The guy who covers Element. Pours dark copper with a foamy 3 finger off-white head. Slightly musty floral aroma. Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is oaked. Fresh floral hop over light toasted malt. The spiceyness of oak permeates. Not getting bourbon or scotch or that sort of thing. ESB heading for English Olde Ale. Or Strong ale. It is exceedingly tasty. Mellow.

750 from cakanator. Pours dark reddish amber with a foamy 4 finger tan head. Rich caramel aroma, lightly roasted, with something like chocolate. Chocolate = leather? Full bodied or near with foamy carbonation. Flavor is confusing. Darkish malt; tannic; baking chocolate; earthy hop. Yeasty. Musty. Barnyardy. Really good ale. Guess it’s an amber, cause I can’t think what else to label it.

750 c&c from cakanator. Thanks! I’m excited about this. Pours black with a creamy/foamy tan head. Aromas of smooth burnt malt and floral hop. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mostly floral hop. It is bitter. Might well be, think there is, a touch of treacle. This drinks really well, and it is very flavorful. Well done.
