Can to tulip.
Appearance: jet black in the color and in the glass with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate and once it did light lace appeared
Aroma: earthy to citrusy hops are bold and up front; black coffee roastiness follows in with some light ash and woody tones; caramel/toffee malts further down in there
Flavor: blends the previously noted aromas to a fine roasty to sweet quality in the front with more of a subtle ashy bitterness closer to the back; finishes with the black coffee & prior noted hop aromas
Texture: medium bodied, definitely a sipper; light smoothness and the sturdy embrace of "some" palate wrecking capabilities of the hop bitterness fist bumping with roasted coffee tones
Overall: it's a "black IPA" and the palate wrecking capabilities are there but possibly not as strong as some other black IPA's on the market, still I believe I could come back to this one.

Can to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a two finger off white foamy head that took it's time to dissipate then leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee up front then some rum barrel/woody spice, light vanilla and then the maple sweet tones, subtle cocoa powder down in there
Flavor: seems to do a pretty good job of copying the aromas in a sweet to woody sweet and slightly roasty then underscored by a little barrel/woody spice; finishes with the rum notes, light maple and a little bit of coffee
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; some smoothness but also some woody/barrel spice trying to be semi-assertive against the tongue
Overall: for the most part this was a pretty nicely done barrel aged porter, I think I could have waited longer before I opened this.

16 oz. Can. Aroma has toffee, wood, and minerals. Flavor is a odd concoction of english toffee, odd vanilla hint, and a strange butterscotch-like flavor. Meh….

Keg taster pour at Craft Brew Race, Worcester. Appearance is light brown with trace sparkle, thin ring of off-white head. Aroma is earthy European hops, and caramel, brown bread malt. Taste is caramel, nut--not too dissimilar from their ESO, except the oak. Palate is medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, decent strength. Not terribly complex and on the brown ale side of APA but decent enough.

A reddish copper ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with maderized character, light mineral notes, honey final, pleasant. In mouth, a dead beer, watery bodied, light peated notes, light caramel malt with, dead and passed its prime. Bottle at Hugue and Alex tasting.
