Description
Facer's Brewery supplies quality, hand crafted real ales to pubs and other venues across North Wales and North West England.
We are the oldest Brewery in Flintshire

Dave Facer started his own brewery in Salford, Greater Manchester in February 2003, sharing premises and equipment with Bazens' Brewery, which had itself started a few months earlier. In 2005 Dave and wife Annette decided to move home (and hence brewery) to Flintshire. The new Facer's Brewery started production in Flint in February 2006.

Brewing - A life's work !

Dave's first job in a brewery was in 1977 in the Quality Control Lab at Wilson's Brewery in Manchester. He later became a fully fledged Brewer and when Wilson's closed he joined Tetley's Brewery in Leeds followed by stints at Chester's of Salford and Whitbread at Samlesbury before becoming a Brewer at Boddington's in 1991. In 1999 Dave was appointed Head Brewer at Boddington's. He left in February 2003 to start Facer's Brewery.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Clear golden with a deeper glow and a creamy head. Rugby seasonal, drank after defeat for Wales in the Six Nations so some guilt attached! Golden style ale with a pleasant hoppy-bitterness about it.

Cask at the Sandbar (Courier tap), Manchester, 26/01/24. Deep amber with a good sized lasting just off white cap. Nose is straw, light biscuit, grains, stewed fruits. Taste comprises biscuit, light mineral notes, straw, hedgerow, dull fruits, faint smoke ... likely unintentional. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter edge. Passable cask affair.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Black with a light-brown creamy head. Has lovely smoothish lightly salted caramels, as you might expect. They negate any traditional stout character, but it's such a lovely light sweetened dark brew this matters little.

Cask at Lych Gate, Wolverhampton. Pours a golden yellow with a medium sized white head and good lacing. There’s some floral hops in the aroma, along with marmalade and some summer fruits. Floral hops again in the mouth, plus citrus and berry fruits. Later on more fruits come hrough, melon, ginger and oranges – leading to a slightly sticky finish. IT’s OK but a bit of a nothing beer really.

Cask @ Cask, Manchester. Clear deeper golden ale with a creamy head. Bittered golden ale but its hoppy taste remains dominant here. Hoppy aroma too.
