50cl bottle from some shop in Latvia. Dark ruby without much head to speak of. Mild bready and malty aroma with notes of dried fruits and caramel. Sweet, but quite balanced with pleasant malty flavours and a hint of acidity. Smooth and surprisingly drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Kvass on 08 Jun 2016 at 20:06 - Score: 6

Small brown head. Clear red body with light carbonation. Earthy rye aroma with syrupy mealy notes. Sweetish, and faintly acidic, dried fruit and rye taste with earthy spicy notes. Mid-to-full body. Mild, soft, flattish mouthfeel. No real aftertaste but lingering rye syrup notes. Quite nice, quite sweet. (0.5l bottle, from Alus Tirgus, Riga.)

Bottle from Super Lincs, Lincoln. Golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma has grain and a touch of corn. Taste light sweet.

(Bottle) Clear golden yellow with slight white head. Grainy aroma with hints of grass. Medium body, reasonable carbonation. Sweet grainy start with some rather harsh bitterness in the finish. Pretty rough, but drinkable.

Poured from a 1500ml pet bottle, plastic screw cap, thanks to djoeye for the share. Clear ruby-brown body, a few bubbles on the surface. Sweet dark bready nose. Taste of prunes and dark bread. Low carbonation level. Easy to drink and quite refreshing (Tromsø 16.09.2015).

Bottle from an Eastern European grocers in Bedminster, Bristol. Golden in colour, with a thin, white, head. Aroma of stale malts and floral hops. Sweet flavour, with some vaguely spicy malts, a hint of toast and moderately bitter finish. Not for me.

Bottle from an Easy European grocers in Bedminster, Bristol. Deep copper in colour, with a short-lived, off-white, head and a touch of carbonation. Sweet, brown sugar and berry fruit aroma, with some bready malts. Slightly metallic flavour, with some cherry sweetness, a trace of something green and herbal, and some caramel. Finish was very gentle, with some lingering bitterness. Unusual, and good for it.
