500 ml bottle shared at Beer session XIX in Tromsø 220312. Sorry to the other participants, as the "bezalkoholisks" part was discovered too late. But being non-alcoholic is still not an adequate reason for the overall vileness of this brew. Body is dark brown with absolutely no head or lacing. Pours like something humans should not drink. Odour of worts makes it resemble wort beer more than any porter I have ever tasted. Flavour is extremely sweet and candy-like, not unlike King of Denmark drops. Sticky and unpleasant palate. If Aldaris Porteris is the heaven of Baltic porters then surely this must be hell.

On tap in Riga at the Ķiploku Krogs (2010-05-25). Clear copper colour with a decent beige head. Sweet and malty aroma with caramel. A bit to sweet for my taste, but it went well with the garlic.

500ml bottle, thanks to Elisabeth and Stefan for sharing. Bubbly surface to a mahogany coloured body. Just plain smell of wort. Oversweet malt-extract in flavour, some sticky sweet, brown sugar as well. No way (Tromsø, 22.03.2012).

Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, mid-sized head. Sweet and caramelly with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. MIld resiny bitterness. In possession of a fair amount of character, but a bit heavy on caramel and sweetness.

Warning! Early amateur rating! Bottle in Riga. Slightly acidic dark lager, not bitter but couldn’t drink much of this.

Bottled@PBF2010. Yellowish golden colour with a mediumsized foamy white head. Aroma is malts, butter, some metal and mild chemical waste. Flavour is quite much the same in a quite harsh balance.
Earlier Rating: 12/17/2005 Total Score: 2.8
Bottled. Golden coloured, big white head. Aroma is quite sweet, caramellish malts. Sweetish flavour of sweet alcohol at first (around 7-8C). After it gets waremer it kind of gets fuller, it’s sweet alcohol along with some sweetish fruit. Doesn’t need much, but this is actually very good for a lager, as "getting warmer" is not a big issue, rather it is adding tothe flavour.

From a 500ml bottle on 23/7/2010. The aroma is dried fruit and rye bread. Taste wise, the dominant flavours are caramel and sweet apple. The carbonation is very subdued. This a quite a nice drop but perhaps could do with a shade more bitterness at the end.

Honey golden with small white head. Aroma of malts and phenol. Sweet rounded malty mouthdfeel. Some hop bitterness in the finish and oily aftertaste. This is one of better Latvian lagers - which does not need much.
