Bottle. It pours a clear golden body with a small white head. Grainy and hop-fruity aroma with a slight sewer-like hint. Quite bitter, with a fruity and grainy flavor too. Medium body, and a quite bitter finish. Sure not a big beer, neither strenght or flavorwise, but it’s sure drinkable. I like the bitterness in this one, but the rest is rather ordinary. (080426)

500 ml bottle, bought in Riga, as "Bauskas Alus Tumsais Specialais". ABV is 5.5%. Copper coloured beer, large and lasting tan head. Malty sweet aroma, notes of caramel and bakery. The flavour is also malty sweet with notes of caramel, but is not cloying. Moderate hops in the finish. Not bad.

Bottled. Same as with many Latvian beer, it differs from cold to warm, but doesn’t get bad. Once cold alcohol, amlts and fruits maily in aroma. Once it gets warm, aroma is sweet plummy, alcoholic and fruity. Flavour while fridge cold was sweet alcohol, cookies and malts. While getting warmer it’s more plums, raisins and candy. Aftertatse quite sweet, but reminds of several seeds mixed. Palate all the way through is kind of sticky, but not unpleasantly. Beer style hard to tell, quite dunkelish when cold, but onc eit gets warm, you really can’t tell... Not a bad beer at all though. Let it be dunkel until someone wise rates it .)

Golden body, creamy head and some particulate matter. Oh well, it’s not much. Cidery esters in both aroma and palate. Gently malty character with sweetish finish. Judging by Per’s rating, this apple character is intended. I’m not keen.
