16 oz. Can dated 8/11. Crystal clear with a very thin head. Aroma is melted butter, tiny bit malt. Taste is thin with a huge amount of diacetyl. Paid $4.75 for this and I’m not happy about it. Pretty offensive.

Fairly hazy golden and peach coloured body with a thinnish, pretty fast-dying, just off-white head that shows a nice lace on the sides that's pretty sturdy with a mellow haze below - nice for the style, for sure. Aroma of ginger, light pine, some spruce, a dash of mellow wheat and a touch of caramelised sugars with some subtle alcohol near the tail end of the nose. Medium-bodied; Fairly rich earthy and biscuity malts come through at first with a crisp ginger profile that favours a ginger beer and a more pungent spruce and pine note at the end that brings out the bitterness, especially with some pervasive hops - very nice throughout and super crisp on the finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of bitterness with the ginger stronger than the spruce, but also a good deal hop bitterness here with a great finish showing some slight sugars and caster sugar sweetness, but a lot of a pungent ginger bite with the spruce and woodsie note that is good at the end, especially. Overall, a surprisingly very nice beer that has a great bitterness, almost more derive from the spruce and ginger notes than from the still pungent hops here - great throughout with a nice balance of malt and hops and a nice sweetness, too. Great as a reminder of how great the 49th state can be, after a day from returning from the 50th state from Spring Break on 19-April-2022 back at home in Washington on the other end of the country from both places.
