On tap at the brewpub.
Appearance: dark brown color with a thin bar pour's kind of foamy head which slid off and barely left any lace
Aroma: nutty, earthy, caramel/toffee malts, and grassy hops
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly sweet with a mild earthy semi-spicy hoppy undertones; light aftertaste of caramel/toffee malts and nuttiness
Texture: light to medium bodied, very sessionable; very smooth along the tongue; finishes somewhat watery though I must admit but then again English dark milds back in the day usually had watery finishes (so no harm no foul, right?)
Overall: pretty good good for me, I believe I could come back to this.

On tap at the brewpub.
Appearance: dark brown color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave barely any lace
Aroma: some caramel/toffee malts, candied dark fruits, Belgian chocolate,, sweet wafers, earthy hops
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas fairly nicely into a mild sweet aspect; soft aftertaste of Belgian chocolates and dark fruits
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; slow moving smoothness on the tongue - seems like it wants to be cloying but somehow kicks in gear and ends up getting to where it needs to; finishes dark fruity, earth hoppy and sweet wafery
Overall: there's something that seems like it's supposed to be good with this beer, I feel like it needs a little bit of tweaking here and there and I think I'd be willing to come back to.

Crowler to English pint glass.
Appearance: brown in color with a quickly dissipating foamy white head, some concave lace
Aroma: big sweet milk chocolate up front; some sweet wafer tones; roasty nuts, sweet coffee, and light toast
Flavor: mildly sweet initially then a subtle roastiness rides in underneath and becomes part of the balance; mild aftertaste of chocolate, nuts and coffee
Texture: light to medium bodied; sessionable; very smooth along the tongue; finishes roasty and smooth
Overall: I got to thinking - I wonder if Big Slide more or less brewed a combo of a brown ale and a porter, if so, well cool stuff then, cuz I'd come back to this.

Crowler to snifter.
Appearance: burnt orange color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some concave lace
Aroma: pumpkin sweetness, light vanilla, subtle sour wisps, faint pie crust
Flavor: takes all the prior noted aromas to blend initially sweet while bringing about a sly sour tone underneath; mild aftertaste of the pumpkin, vanilla and sour tones
Texture: between light and medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; gentle movement along the tongue of the pumpkin sweetness but some sour showing some invasiveness; mild finish of the pumpkin with the sour.
Overall: I liked this pumpkin sour, I just wish I knew what they used to make the beer sour. It is what it is, right?
