Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 13/04/13. Mid black with a thin tan head. Nose is light roast malt, cardboard, tea leaves, dark fruits. Taste comprises roast malt, molasses, earthy, fruity backbone. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry in the finish. An OK porter.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2012, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.Clear medium yellow orange colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, apple - wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, wood, malty, fruity, wood bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily and light sticky, carbonation is soft to flat. [20120808]

Golden bitter with a lovely smooth feel in the palate. Lightest of malts in the aroma. No real flavour but this is a texture ale. Small thin head.

Golden with a small creamy head. Has a mix of both malts and hots, maybe the former being the dominant of the two.

16th June 2012: hand pulled pint in the Wetherspoons in Beeston. Light amber body with a good white head that produced some heavy lacing on the glass. Sadly the beer didn’t ‘do it for me’. Hoppy but lacked depth of smell and flavour: another run-of-the–mill light golden citrusy brew the UK is littered with at the moment.

Cask@GBBF2012. Golden colour, small white head. aroma is fruity, caramelly, some earthy and mild citrusy notes. Flavour is caramel, fruits, herbs and some mild toffeeish notes. Balanced and enjoyable.
