Cask at JDW ... Hazy orange brown ... light ginger nose ... Smooth sweet lots fo ginger ... little ginger bitterness ... but no real complexity... gassy but not fizzy.

Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Cloudy gold with a trace of white head; a slight hint of ginger on the nose; rather thin, tasing of ginger and sweet malts; some slight bitterness to finish with warmth and spice from the ginger. Unusual, but forgetable.

Half pint in a special glass served a bit chilled from cask at White Horse, Parsons Green. Deep and clear mahogany body under a ring of fragile bubbles. Dry aroma of fruits and spicies. Dark caramel malts in flavour quite strongly supported by dried fruits and ending up with nice bitterness. Well bodied (18.03.2008)

A dirty hazy amber with a thick off white head, overcarbonated, gusher, like OKBeer and Duffman’s (although I got mine in Reno, NV). Aroma is doughy, with tired herbal hops, developping citrussy notes in final. In mouth, a funky pinhey IPA, with light sweet maltyness, some burned toast, a bit too astringent. Medium bodied. Bought at the Booze Bors., August 2007. Sampled March 25, 2008.

On gravity at the Bristol Beer Festival 14/3/08. Near black with a slight tan head. Light aromas of chocolate and roast malt. Easy drinking with a touch of fruit and a tobacco finish. Ok.

Bottle, Co-Op, Hoylake. Best beer amongst the prevailing dross in Co-Op. Deep Copper colour, thin white head, orange jostles nicely with the hops to leave a slightly metallic aftertaste. Definitely worth a try.

500 ml bottle, from Integrated Bottling Solutions, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Freeminer may well be the actual brewery, but it is not mentioned on the label. Bottle conditioned, ABV is 4.0%. Deep golden to brown colour with a slight haziness, moderate white head. Pleasant hoppy aroma with floral notes, also some moderate malty / grainy notes. The flavour is moderately fruity and malty with a touch of caramel, some hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste.

500ml. Low level, bubbly head on a foggy, orange-brown body. Fragile lacing on the glass. Aroma of hop resin. More resin in flavour supported by bitter caramel malts. Bitter ending (bottle from Centra Colosseum, Oslo 17.01.2008).

Bottle. Light caramel and floral hop. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that filmed, leaving lace tatters. Medium bodied with mild, creamy, carbonation. The flavor is hop, with some light malt. It is a bitter IPA. The finish is dry, and it is bitter. It’s not all that simple. It is extremely good.

500ml bottle @ Cardinal. Red/brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma is a bit overripe fruit and some kind of strange hops. Flavor is sweet malty, citrus, dry fruit prunes, raisin) and bitter. Medium body. This beer is OK, but a bit unusually. A combination of fresh fruity and overripe fruit.
