(Bottle 50 cl) This one credited to "Integrated Bottling Solutions" - not Freeminer. Pours a hazy amber with a handsome, off-white head with a good retention. Discreet aroma of nuts. Fairly light-bodied with lots of flavour: nuts, caramel and a hint of citrus. Dry finish without being overly bitter. A nice Bitter. 020806

500ml bottle from Co-op, labelled as Gold Miner, Bottle Conditioned. Copper colour with thin lasting white head. Interesting hop aroma. Grapefruit is really prominent. Juicy malt. Some light toffee. Grapefruit hop aroma is good with Thornton’s toffee in mouth and then balanced grapefruit hop tangy finish. This is a very good beer. Hop and juicy malt balance is excellent. Some creamy fudge and biscuit too.

I pick this up regularly on bottles from Headington Co-op under it’s other alias Gold Miner. Orange coloured and with nice hoppy and fruity floral and zesty aroma, good hop and malt taste and nice levels of bitterness.

Bottled A very dark beer that has plenty of roasted aroma’s. This is not one of my favourite beers and in fairness I have tried it on a number of occasions now and always feel a bit dissapointed. I find it far to bitter with too much in the way of roasted coffee notes also a bit thin and too dry. I can see why others like this as it is very interesting, its just not my thing at all.

Bottle conditioned
Light amber color. Light aroma, with some malt and hop. Good malty body, good structure, with a good bitterness. Finally a good IPA! (in my opinion)

[Cask at GBBF 2005] An orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet fruity combined with strong notes of grass, leading to a slightly bitter dry end.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pretty, deep orange - gets more and more hazy towards the end. No head and almost completely flat. Presumably sort of a ginger wheat beer. Distinct ginger bite and a marked bitterness. But quite refreshing. An odd bird indeed. 300601

Cask handpull at County Hotel JDW, Ashford. Hazy pale gold colour with lasting beige head. Peardrops, lemon on nose. OK in mouth, some muddy malt. Zippy, tangy hop, citrus finish. Not sure its supposed to be like this, but it is quite nice all the same

Bottled. Copper colour, mediumsized beige head. Caramellish malty and hoppy aroma. Caramel and malt in flavour with hoppy finish. Also some roasted hints can be found. Very pleasant.
