Bottle direct from the brewery. It pours clear pale golden - blonde with a small white cap. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, mellow, pleasing floral character, summer meadow and a twist of lemony citrus. The taste is crisp, dry, clean, light, smooth, easy going floral character, some fruitiness, twist of citrus, yellow plum, nutty cereal and light bread with a drying, zingy finish. Light+ body and fine carbonation. Easy going and quenching golden ale.

Bottle from the Braemar brewing stall at Barra Castle. It pours clear amber with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, yet spicy, berry skin, touch of jam, fruit cake and biscuit. The taste is fairly dry upfront with a touch of bitterness, bitter - sweet character, biscuit malt, touch of slightly tart berry skin, red grape, cherry, jammy, leafy, fruit cake and light spice with a dry, tangy berry finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Quite novel, fruit is well integrated with the base beer. Nice condition.

Bottle from the Brewery stall at Barra Castle Xmas fair with a bubbly white head. The aroma is a touch dusty, fragrant, floral, grassy, biscuity malt, grain and cereal. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, grassy, grainy, cereal, touch of peppery spice, biscuity malt, floral and some waxy citrus peel with a dry finish. Average body and soft, but we'll appointed carbonation. Not bad for what it is

Bottle from the Brewery stall at Barra Xmas fest. It pours darkest brown with a small light tan head. The aroma is earthy roasted malt, coffee grounds, umami, meatiness, liquorice, cacao and a touch of marmite. The taste is drying, fairly bitter, plenty of umami, liquorice, cacao, malt loaf, hit of coffee, peppery spice and a touch of tannin with a drying, slightly charred roast finish. Lighter end of medium body and fine carbonation. Lacks a bit of body and sails a bit close to the umami/marmite wind. Fine.

Bottle from the Brewery stall at Barra Christmas Fair. It pours deep golden - amber with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, fragrant, floral, nutty, biscuity malt, cereal, leafy vibes and damp wood. The taste is dry, bitter, snappy, grassy, leafy, floral, peppery spicy, nutty, woody, biscuit, cereal and some underlying caramel -like sweetness. Finish is bitter - sweet and drying. Average body and moderate carbonation. Old school in character, but not without its charms. It feels fresh and I like the bitterness. Not bad.
