Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber to brown with orange/lava chinks. Nose - chocolate orange, specifically like the orange in a Jaffa Cake. Taste - wholemeal bread and orange again. Kinda marmalade on toast thing almost going on. Palate - medium bodied, roasty finish. Overall - a bit challenging but enjoyable all the same.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown and cloudy. Beige head. Nose - banana, toffee and malt loaf. Taste - toffee, malt loaf and this time, just a hint of the banana. Palate - creamy in texture, close to medium bodied and the finish is fairly fresh given the style. Overall - more of a dunkelweizen. Not bad, but weakest I've had from Boden so far.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown with red chinks. Big, fluffy, beige head. Nose - burnt caramel, savoury and lightly salty. Taste - caramel & seaweed (salty bit, I presume) with a dark chocolate and honeycomb backdrop. Palate - medium bodied, dry, roasty finish. Overall - I'd say the base beer here is a dry stout rather than a porter. It's another interesting beer from Boden with another complex malt bill.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - bright golden amber with a big fluffy off-white head. Nose - fruit cake, dried orange, lemon zest and greengage. Taste - oh, that's interesting. Fruity, green notes. Gooseberry, greengage and then closing out with green apple. Palate - close to medium bodied. Tangy, bitter finish. Overall - not what I was expecting. Nice.
