Description
Founded 1997 by Claude Berri, Gérard Depardieu, Renaud, and Miou-Miou after making the film Germinal in Valenciennes. The brewery was called Brasserie des Amis Réunis, and located in a former slaughterhouse. It became the Brasserie de Saint-Amand-les-Eaux in 2002. In 2005, after a closure due to liquidation, the brewery was taken over by Jean-luc Robert Butez (owner of International Breweries and Beers), and opened again under the name of Brasserie des Sources.

Clear blond to orange beer, small creamy white head, unstable, dissipates quickly. Aroma: sweetish, yeast, lots of ripe banana, bit fruity, spicy. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: very yeasty, spices, cloves, lots of banana peel, more banana. Aftertaste: slightly bitter, metallic touch, little bitter, more yeast, banana, a bit too sweet.

Clear amber beer, small creamy off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweetish impression, spicy, caramel, some banana, grains, cow fodder. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: malty, bitter, grains, some caramel, sweet touch, some leather, liquorish. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, spicy, hay, leather, rural touch.

Biere 33 cl commandée chez une petite mousse en novembre 2018. Une Bellerose avec des épices en plus, sur le principe ça fait envie! Malheureusement son goût n'est pas une réussite. Elle a un arrière goût un peu désagréable, d'artichaut, de topinambour, de légume terreux qui persiste en bouche. Je ne suis pas fan, mieux vaut boire une Bellerose classique ! Retentée en 2022 et je ne suis toujours pas convaincue, c'est désagréable à boire, je pense que le mélange d'épices est vraiment mal équilibré.

Bottle from the Standing Order. Appearance - cloudy golden amber with neat lacing. Nose - toffee and yeast. Fudge in fact. Oranges. Taste - candied orange and yeast and white pepper. Palate - medium bodied and tangy. Dry tangy and long. Overall - quite luscious. Almost a little sweet but lovely.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a creamy white head. Floral notes, citrus, yeast, clove, honey. Not bad.

Opaque pale amber colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma malts, light peach, yeast, caramel, honey. Taste light heavy sweet, light bitter, malty, grainy, toffee, candy sugar. Kind of rough sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy accents, some alcohol, medium body, oily texture, despite some rough features an nice spicy tripel.

Fruity nose. Hazy deep golden colour, tall frothy white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, light banana, Belgian yeast, herbal notes (juniper). Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, yeasty, light fruity, herbal notes. Bit prickly sweetbitter aftertaste, wood and alcohol notes, medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, well-made, tripel, nice.

F: big, white, creamy, good retention. C: gold, light hazy, yeasty debris. A: malty, mellow fruity, bit orange peels, spicy, hint of honey, yeasty. T: malty, honey, fruity, bit spicy, decent bitterness, bit yeasty, medium body and carbonation, nothing very special yet enjoyed, 33cl bottle from Cora Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in Brussels.
