Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear amber with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity and ginger. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 110113

Bottle @ fonefan berliner weisse, cream ale multistate tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich sage, malt, caramel, fruits and hops.

Bottle, 7%. Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, dusty and ginger. Flavour is malt, medium sweet, little ginger, spices, hop and vegetable.

(bottle, 33cl, 8.5% abv) Hazy, murky amber colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Mildly sweet and nutty dark malty aroma with slightly vinous fruity notes of dark and red berries, accompanied by shades of cacao and alcohol. Mildly sweet and slightly sour flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Dark and slightly toasty malty taste with a delicately vinous fruity touch, as well as a tinge of chocolate and nutty notes; bearable notes of alcohol show up towards the malty and slightly sour-fruity finish. Nice one. 17.XII.12

Bottle @ Jacobs. Pours dark amber with a offwhite head. Aroma of malt, light yeast, anis, spice, light sweet fruit. Flavor of malt, yeast, caramel, fruit, x-mas spices. Medium body, lively carbonation. 241212

Bouteille:Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, distinctive chocolatey traces in the fruity-caramelly nose; moderate to solid sweet-sourish and also bitter flavour, medium bodied, soft; lingering chocolatey finish with some fruity-vinous traces. Chapeau, much better than expected…

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks avrashi. Slightly hazy golden. Fruity aroma with some yeast, sourish notes and a citric hint. Sweetish fruity flavor with some yeast and a slightly bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Not great.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Light malty and moderate hopy and light yeasty aroma. Pine and flowery notes. Moderate bitter flavor with nice fruity esters. More a blond belgian ale than an amber I would think. Average moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate. Nice spring! beer.

Another beer given to me by Marcus that I’ve had to find a home for on this site: brewed or at least labelled for a Posh Shop in Gravelines (close to the channel ports), France. 33cl Bottle: best before 30/09/2013, poured into a Westmalle chalice @ home on 08/12/2012. The sediment was allowed to leave the bottle so although the body was fine there were a few items floating around the otherwise bright and colourful brew ( mahogany/red): the thin white head soon became a wisp and collar, sadly. Really sweet and alcoholic in nature: treacle and malty molasses rule both the nose and taste. Hints of yeast (they were hanging around in the glass after all), dark fruits and a head ache appear as the initial flavours faded. I might be being unkind, because this does have redeeming aspects in so much as it actually tastes OK, I like the sweeter, maltier brews and this isn’t bad at all, just worried about my brain tomorrow. Could easily have been a top quality Belgian heavy hitter: I can’t be more complimentary than that surely?
