Pour is a cloudy yellow with no real head. Aroma is very sweet with a bit of fruityness in there. Flavor is buttery with some citrus and lemon. A bit watery but not as bad and most are saying. Could be a good session beer.

Bottled. #6 of 31 US Beers for American Beer Month. O-o-o-kay, a gusher when I open the bottle. Not a good start, but let’s remember this sat in my hot car for a few hours. Orangeish, slightly cloudy body, very fizzy head that suggests bacteria. But no, contamination isn’t the problem. It’s just really off style with off flavors. Metallic taste; what, are they suing aluminum brewpots? Even a bit of bile. Folks, I want to support local brewers as much as possible, especially in the BMC wasteland that is downstate Illinois, but this is not something I can get behind.

Bottled. 1 of 31 American brews for American Beer Month! My forst american Beer Month rating is a bit inauspicious. Opens with a skuny smell from the start. Pours a decent dark brown with a nice bit of a head. Decently roasty, but phenolic and oxidized, too. Lacking much in the way of hops. Twist-off bottle is embossed with a "15 01 04," but that’s more likely when the bottle was made. I’ll give this a little benefit of the doubt since it rode in the trunk of my hot car, albeit in an insulated bag with a little ice, but it still should be a lot better than this. I hope they get better, cause there needs to be more great brewing in downstate Illinois

This came to me in a beer club. I have never heard of the brewer and their products are not available locally to me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a small tan head. The aroma was sour malt and smoke. The beer was rather flat. The flavor was sour and mildly malty with a roasted malt note and some bitterness on the finish. I tend not to be much of a brown ale fan so this beer did little for me. It was drinkable though.

This beer came as part of a beer club. I have never heard of this brewer and their products are not available locally to me. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma was sour malt and a bit skunky. The flavor was dry, mildly sour, a light sprinkling of malt and a bit skunky on the finish. Tasted a bit like a weak brown ale. While this was not a drain pour there are few positives that I could find to say about it.+++ now looking back at things I can see why this brewer went out of business. Awful stuff.

I agree with Cornfield. I also got this as a beer club selection and would not buy it if it was available locally.
In addition, I rated it lower because I seem to be seeing floating particulate matter in my glass after I poured it. :^(
