Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - copper with a quickly disappearing head. Strange as the other 2 from them had to be opened over the sink. Nose - toffee, brown bread and lightly metallic. Taste - green apple, green grape, toffee and brown bread. Palate - medium bodied, dry bitter finish. Overall - not bad but probably reproduces better at the brewhouse.

Bottle from the Black Toad. Appearance - I carefully opened this one over the sink as the last one had been a gusher and had only left me with the yeast in the bottle. And hey voila, the same again although this time I managed to save around 60% of it. It is murky and brown with visible yeast floaters. Nose - burnt toffee, brown bread and honey. Taste - burnt toast and toffee. Palate - medium bodied, chewy and astringent. Overall - they have a problem with their bottling set up clearly. It must look, smell and taste better than this at the brewhouse itself.

Complete and utter gusher. Lost 90% of ut and what was left was a centimetre of yeast. Waste of money and what a mess. The yeast smelt bread.

Bottle from Homebrew Bottle Shop, Oxton in Birkenhead. Appearance - golden amber with a big fluffy head. It's a bit livelyso the pour needs to stop while the head dies down. Then the second pour gives a very cloudy appearance. Nose - orange, cake mixture. Taste - dried orange and sultana. Yeast coming through a bit too much. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture. Dry finish. Overall - decent but the bottle conditioning wasn't executed as the brewer had intended.
