Bottle from cervejaportuguesa.com. Hazy amber with a huge off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light sour berries. Flavor is medium sweet and light sour. Dry and light sour finish. High carbonation. 140718

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 26B) . Bottle 33 cl - Batch L16050 (BBF 03-2018). AROMA: medium-low alcohol aroma with almost a solventy quality. low toasted malt notes. slight acidic and yeasty background. APPEARANCE: dark amber color and clear. large beige head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium acidic note, followed by a somewhat sweet under atenuated-like malt flavor, some roastiness and yeast. medium-low bitterness with na almost dry and slightly roasted finish. PALATE: medium to medium-low body with high carbonation. alcohol sensation. OVERALL: a dubbel with an odd acidic presence, a bit on the roasted side and with a bit extra alcohol.

AROMA: medium hop aroma with oxidation notes (cheese) and low pine. medium-low roasted aroma with a dark chocolate note. APPEARANCE: very dark Brown color and clear with ruby highlights. médium light Brown head with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with oxidized hops (cheese), slight pine and medium roasted flavor (black coffee). medium-high bitterness with na almost dry, roasted and bitter finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a black ipa already oxidized that needs to be retasted.

APPEARANCE: very dark Brown color and opaque with ruby highlights. low Brown head with low retention. slight leg formation. TASTE: medium roasted malt flavor with a bittersweet character. medium-high solventy alcohol presence. slight yeasty note. medium-low bitterness with a dry and roasted finish. PALATE: medium-high body with very low carbonation. distracting alcohol warmth. OVERALL: an imperial stout with agressive alcohol presence and a monotonous character.

APPEARANCE: light amber color and cristal clear. large off white head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium-high malt flavor with notes of caramel and slight bread crust. medium-low bitterness with a dry and slightly bitter finish. slight cereal husk flavor. PALATE: medium to medium-high body with medium-high carbonation. slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: an average doppelbock that needs a bit of tweaking.
