On tap at the Hay Merchant, cask it seems. It’s an unclear, yellow-golden beer topped by a small, white head. Ther aroma has pink grapefruit, citrus peel and a faint maltyness. Not much complexity going on, but it’s nice anyway. The flavor has a fine bitternes, some malty sweetness, but it’s the pink grapefruit and citrus peel that dominates. Medium to full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Rather dryish on the palate. Lasting bitter finish, citrusy. Nice and quenching and easy drinkable this one. 140515

Location: Draft at Richmond Arms, 4/2/14

Aroma: Nose has some pine and citrus, some crystal malt, and some caramel
Appearance: It pours a hazed darker amber color with a beige head and average lace
Flavor: The taste is mid-sweet and mid-bitter, similar to the components of the nose
Palate: The body is medium, it has an alright mouthfeel, and average carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a half decent, but ultimately unexciting IPA. This is a fine beer, but it is hardly more than that.

Hay Merchant, Houston tap: Pours golden with a wwhite head. Aroma is a combination of citrus, resin, flowers, and overall very wet. Other people say dank, and I would not disagree. The bitterness hits you well without having the beer lose any of its nice flavorful hop characteristics. Better than the other APA of theirs I had.

Moon Tower Inn, Houston tap ($5): Pours golden with white head. Aroma is light amounts of citrus, with some very light malt backbone. Taste is much in the same direction. Slightly bitter, but plenty flavorful and fruity. Not bad, but simple and all.

On draught at Hay Merchant (under the Pioneer label). Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a minimal head and decent legs on the glass. Aroma of fruit and honey. Medium-bodied with flavors of honey, spices and plums. The finish is sweet with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.
