On tap. Pours a clear golden orange with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma is light with wheat, light fruits and a bit of tartness. Flavor has much more of a tart note with a bit of wheat and a touch of some light fruits.

On tap at Hay Merchant. Pours a cloudy orange with medium frothy white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is citrus and wheat. Medium mouthfeel with light funk, sweet hop, light tartness. Good.

On tap at the Hay Merchant. A creamy, dark beige head sits on top of a black body. The aroma has bonfire and burnt notes at first, soon folllowed by coffee, some dark chocolate and blue plums. Mocha, dark chocolate, coffee, some bonfire and burnt malts and a nice hoppy bitterness in the flavor. It’s supersmooth and semi-sweet on the palate, with a full body. A beer that starts off surprisingly boring, but turns out b be really lovely and repeatable. 140515

Bottle. A creamy, dark beige head of finger-thick size leaves lacings. Light brown in color. The aroma is roasted and toasted, with bread and some dried fruits. Notes of chocolate and nuts too. A faint bitterness in the flavor, with roasted malts dominating. Chocolate notes, some nuts and dried fruits. Smooth on the palate, full-bodied and semi-dry. A faint bitterness in the finish. A pretty nice one, but a bit weak I think. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An almost clear one, dark reddish brown in color and with a small beige head leaving lacings. The aroma has alcohol, dried fruits, caramel and toast. All nice, but far from as complex as the lovely flavor. Dried fruits, raisins and figs moslty, brown sugar, roasted malts, some alcohol and a little hoppy touch. Full-bodied, lightly warming and with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruits. Although a bit boring initially, sure it’s a fine brew. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An unclear, golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aromas is a bit weak I think, but nice, with citrus peel notes, resins and a grassy touch. Not much room left for the malts. It’s pretty bitter on the palate, with citrus peel, pine cones and a subtle malty sweetness. Full body and a nice carbonation level, semi-sweet. Mostly bitter finish. A beer that starts off a bit boring, but sure isn’t. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An unclear, reddish golden beer with a white to off-white head. The aroma is piney and citrusy, with some sweetish pale malts. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated. Sweet, fruity flavor with a bit too less bitterness I think. Pine cones and resins, leading to a lasting bitter finish. A too malt focused DIPA, but it’s nice anyway. Can’t see myself ordering it again, but you shouldn’t hesitate doing so. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An unclear, golden colored beer with a small, off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma has a weak fruityness, with citrus peel and pine cone notes. It’s bitter on the palate, fruity and lighlty malty, leading to a short finish with fruityness dominating. Dry, full to medium bodied and soft on the palate. Ok, so it’s a boring one, but it’s definitely not bad, and drinks easily. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. A finger-thick white head sits on top of a hazy, golden body. The aroma is malty and toffee-ish, with a light fruityness and citrus fruits. Some candy notes. The flavor is semi-sweet, with toffee hints, citrus notes and a herbal touch. It’s supersmooth on the palate, with a nice carbonation level and a lasting sweet, toffee and citrus finish. Not my preferred kind of pale ale, it’s too malty for that, but then again it drinks easily. 140515

On tap at the Hay Merchant. A lightly hazy golden colored beer with a creamy off-white head of finger-thick size. Wonderful lacings. The aroma has some caramel malts, but not much hoppyness except some fruityness. The flavor suffers from the same problems, it’s rather malty, with a light generic fruityness, some bitterness and it turns out to be quite citrusy bitter towards the finish. Supersmooth on the palate, medium to full-bodied. Overall, a rather boring one, but damn easy drinkable. 140515
