Description
Connecticut Valley Brewing Company is an independently owned and operated family business. The company was founded by two Connecticut locals who have dreamt of opening a brewery for many years and have always wanted to create a place where the community could gather and enjoy each other’s company. Our South Windsor facility, which we officially opened in early 2018, is situated in the heart of the Connecticut Valley. Our brewery is just a short, five minute drive to the banks of the beautiful Connecticut River.

Our logo features the F4U Corsair airplane which is the Connecticut State Airplane and a great testament to the spirit of the state. Because we feel community is important, our company is highlighting some of the state’s great industries and adventure spots by featuring them on our cans. These people and places have not only inspired our own lives and the life of the brewery, but they also honor the places we’ve come to live, love and grow in. We hope you enjoy your time here and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

Cheers to You and Cheers to Connecticut Craft Beers!

Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in color with a one and a half fingers of off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: black coffee, roasted malts, woody spices and some citrusy/piney hops
Flavor: intertwines the prior noted aromas to a fine roasty to hoppy sweet and underscored by some spicy to bitter tones of the hops and woody character; finishes roasty, semi-spicy with appropriate bitterness
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper; light smoothness but also some bitterness harshness which doesn't lay back in this one (as I hoped and expected it would)
Overall: nicely done black IPA I would return to as it seems to fit and on it's way to being the palate wrecker this style tends to be.

Can to pokal.
Appearance: soft yellow color with some transparency and noticeable bubbles arising to a fairly quickly dissipating foamy head that didn't leave any lace
Aroma: key lime tart and sweet whiffs, subtle sour-ed wheat, sweet cracker tones
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to a fine tart to sour to sweet arrangement with some salt in there; finishes soured - wheaty with the tart and sweet cracker and a touch of salt
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but also an ample amount of tart assertiveness to the tongue
Overall: yeah, I can see this as a gose and a worthy one to return to in Summer.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: red in color in the glass with a two and a half fingers of pink foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: kiwi, pear, dragon fruit, watermelon and guava with a light whiff of the lacto/yogurty character
Flavor: fabulous blend of the tart to sour tones of those prior noted fruits with an ample amount of sweetness coming in for a great balance; finishes tart, sour & sweet through the dragon fruit & guava vibes
Texture: light to medium bodied, good sipper, some smoothness but some tart stabs on the tongue
Overall: nicely done fruited sour ale well worthy of returning to.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: pours dark brown and leaves more of a black color in the glass. Two and a half fingers of khaki foamy head dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: dark bread, toasted nuts, some sweet ash, earthy tones and some caramel malts
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to an earthy sweet blend with toasty vibes; finishes sweet earthy and a little bit of caramel
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness but also some grainy tickling to the tongue
Overall: nice enough dark lager, maybe come back to.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: bronze color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: piney, orangey and grapefruity hops blend with some caramel/toffee malts
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together in a bittersweet sort of way; finishes slightly orangey and piney
Texture: medium bodied, leaning to being a sipper, light smoothness and some aggressive hop bitterness
Overall: I don't see this as a New England styled DIPA, but a good American styled DIPA worthy to come back to.
