Description
Goldwater Brewing Co. began with a family tradition of brewing, rooted in Chad and Dillon McClelland’s childhood experiences with their father, Greg, an avid home brewer since 1986. What started as a hobby in their garage evolved into a shared passion, leading to the establishment of a 10bbl brewery with three locations.

The turning point came when Chad, inspired by his travels through craft beer scenes worldwide, decided to turn their family passion into a professional endeavor. With full support from Greg, Dillon, and their brother-in-law, Jimmy, the family set out to build their dream. After months of planning, experimenting, and overcoming challenges, Goldwater Brewing Co. officially opened its doors on May 1, 2015.

Their success stems from the combined strengths of each member: Greg’s business acumen, Chad’s brewing expertise, Dillon’s creative vision, and Jimmy’s operational skills. Together, they’ve built a brand known for quality, innovation, and community. As they continue to grow and introduce new, exciting beers, the family remains committed to their roots and the people who have supported them from the start.

Cheers to the future of fresh, local craft beer!

32oz growler pours with a near clear copper body that has thin golden hues and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up citrusy clementine, apricot, warm pineapple and cantaloupe. The taste is similar with juicy citrus and tropical hop flavor as well as plenty of citrus hop bitterness. It delivers juicy tangelo, pineapple, cantaloupe and apricot amidst a nice load of citrusy hoppy bitterness. To midway the palate changed a bit as the NE IPA aspect comes forward. The more I drink the more I like this.

32oz growler pours nice dark mahogany colored body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up chocolate, plums, dates, a dash of spicy black strap molasses and then a mild malt roastiness. The taste delivers smooth sweet molasses and chocolate paired with sweet prune and date like fruitiness. Toward the finish a modest winter spiciness blend in nicely with the fruity ester and lingering chocolate. Pretty solid stuff.

10 oz draft at Goldwater Brewing Co. in Scottsdale, Arizona. The pour is a hazed orange with a well formed and lasting 1/2 inch white head. The aroma is citrus pine along with some bitter grapefruit. The taste is fresh and clean hops, the citrus and pine from the nose. Some token malt grain is present, though this is certainly a hop focused IPA. A hint of heat in the aftertaste. The palate is light to medium bodied with soft carbonation and the grapefruit bitter alcohol in the finish.

10 oz draft at Goldwater Brewing Co. in Scottsdale, Arizona. The pour is a slight haze golden orange with a well formed 1/2 inch white head. The Aroma is bright and fresh citrus and resin hops. The taste is the straightforward citrus hops, resinous along with some cereal malt underneath to balance it out. Hops and malt are clean and fresh. The palate is medium to light bodied with soft natural carbonation and a mineral softly bitter citrus finish. Really easy drinking.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out subdued bourbon upfront, followed by roast and some coffee. Flavour is fairy abrasive, with notes of coffee and alcohol. Lacking in depth and complexity, but inoffensive. Meh.
