Description
We offer a full range of tasty beers, from dark and mysterious stouts and porters through to lagers and hoppy pales. But our true passion is for heritage beers, which is why our core range comprises beers based on nineteenth century recipes and tasting notes. We have also branched out into spirits, creating our Limited Edition Hopped Gin in 2019.

From cask at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam. Thick caramel malt aroma with toffee, soft noble hops, picking up a little orange but it'a quite 'old world' and malty as promised. Medium bodied. Decent bitterness, overall enjoyable.

Gravity cask at Pig’s Ear 2024 - Hackney. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy, light khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of dark berries, very soft roast, a little fruity tang. Light bodied with fine carbonation; acceptable condition. Finishes with nondescript dark malt character, further berry accents, mellow earthy hops. So so overall.

500ml bottle. Opalescent, amber colour with average to huge, frothy, diminishing, white head. Fruity, mildly funky, tangy aroma, sweet-ish and minimally spicy, malty background, hints of cherry, minimally waxy overtones. Taste is mildly tart, fruity, minimally tangy and funky yeasty, minimally spicy, malty basis with some residual sweetness, hints of cherry, weak rye spiciness, a minimally sugary touch. Watery texture, minimally astringent palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Light, mild, not overly complex, fairly refreshing - not bad.
