On tap in a flight at Halfpenny. Pale, hazy, yellow color, with a bubbly, off-white head. The nose is bacon grease and jerky, with green apples and lemon juice. Sweet up front, with a sharp and pretty assertive tart flavor. Light body, very acidic, and crisp. This is a bold and flavorful sour, with a surprising amount of delicious smoke and meatiness.

On tap in a flight at the brewery. Dark, clear, ruby brown color, with a thin, persistent head. The nose is toasted oak, cinnamon, vanilla, apples, and a faint touch of smoke. Sweet and malty, with a bit of bitterness that balances pretty well. Medium to heavy body, sticky, syrupy, and a little warming. This is a nice example - delicious, malty, and balanced.

On tap in a flight at the brewery. Bright, clear bronze color, with some good lacing. The nose is ripe banana, biscuit dough, earthy and resinous hops, and a bit of caramel. Sweet and yeasty, with a light, fair bitterness. Medium body, sticky, a bit astringent, and sticky. This is a nicely balanced Maerzen, and pretty clean.

On tap in a flight at the brewery. Dark, clear, ruby brown, with no real head. The aroma is rye toast, anise, and black pepper. Sweet, with a kinda dank, roasty bitterness. Light to medium body, with a sharp, sticky, and harsh mouthfeel. This is a pretty flavorful beer, but it’s a little off.
