Makes an attempt at bridging the gap between English and American pale ales, but doesn’t quite pull it off. Sweet malt approaches wort territory, with a touch of citrus from the hops and a mild, bready finish. Tastes like decent homebrew.

Tap. Pours deep chestnut, small beige head, small lacing. Aroma is roasty, chocolate. Flavor is heavy chocolate, roasty. Fairly one notish. Medium light body, light acidity.

Tap. Pours crystal clear orange, medium white head, creamy, nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, pine. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium piney bitterness, a bit of metal. Medium body. This is pretty much a typical IPA of fifteen years ago. Hmmm, the more I drink, the more it is dominated by metallic bitterness.

Deep copper body under a tall, off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt and faint hops. The flavor is light sweet malt balanced by a subtle hop bitterness. Thye flavor is not bad, but lacks enough hop flavor and aroma to be in the Pale Ale category. Good body. Drinkable enough, just not much of a pale ale.
