Draught @ the brewpub (Nov 2024). Clear dark brown with red highlights, foamy beige head, faint caramel aroma, low carbonation, mildly bitter caramel malt taste, faintly tart orange peel, alcohol undertones, thin body, long finish. A nice winter warmer.

Draught @ the brewpub (Oct 2024). Extremely hazy bright yellow, looks like orange juice, large foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter citrus peel-pineapple-peach taste, thin body, long finish. Tasty.

Draught @ Old Town Pour House - Napierville IL (Oct 2024). Clear dark amber-red with a small frothy off-white head, coffee aroma, medium carbonation, medium bitter coffee taste with nutty flavor, thin body, long coffee finish. It is a very strange brew; it feels like a nice stout when you drink with closed eyes.

Draft sample. May be a barrel aged version, but these are notes from years ago that I just now found. Best I can say is that there's a good spicy note from rye whiskey. Big fruit character; a thick plum juice note.

Taster at EBC. Opaque black beer, with an almost perfumey vanilla smell. I'd have guessed it was barrel-aged, but I'm wrong. Cookie impression is definitely here.

Taster at EBC. Slightly thick and chewy. A good Guinness-like session beer, with a little roasty grain aftertaste.

Murkiest brown beer I've ever seen, looking like a lot of trub got left behind. Smell has a lot of walnut, brown sugar and clove. Taste is grainy, but to be expected. Really tasty as a winter warmer.

Taster at Rotary Grove Fest. Oh, hazy, hazy, like unfiltered pineapple juice. Creamy thin white head from the can pour. Smell has big pineapple juice, grapefruit and maybe papaya. Taste still delivers a big bitter hop wallop that overwhelms the fruit in the nose. Slight lactic aftertaste.

Draft at EBC. Fully hazy yellow, short but sturdy head of white foam. Nose of fresh orange juice, and a side of resin. After a large popcorn at the movie (Oppenheimer), the chill hits me just right. Taste is more pine resin than the nose held. Taste also brings in more malt, and comes in nice and filling.
