Appearance: cloudy gold with a large off-white frothy head of decent retention. Aroma: wheat bread, banana, candy, phenols. Taste: light to medium sweet. Wheat bread, candy, distant banana and clove. Mouth feel: medium body, average to lively carbonation. Summary: strange. Rather a failed Weizen than a Wit. Not a disaster though.

Appearance: Almost clear, golden, good off-white head. Aroma: Pale malt, hay, grass. Taste: Light sweet, light plus bitterness. Wet pale malt, hay, gtass. Hoppy ending. Short aftertaste. Mouth feel: Medium minus body, average carbonation. Summary: One of better Kanzler efforts.

Appearance: Opaque deep brown to black with a good beige head. Aroma: Toasted & roasted, vinous, nail polish esters, prunes, smoke, distant chocolate. Taste: Moderately sweet, low bitterness. Toasted & roasted, nail polish esters, smoke, distant chocolate & hop. Mouth feel: Medium body, inconsistant, decent carbonation. Overall: Quite OK for that little money (1.5$). Not quite up to real RIS standards though.

Appearance: Slightly fogged gold with a good off-white head. Aroma: Slack citrus fruits, pale malt, honey, resin. Taste: Pretty much the same. Light to medium sweet & bitter. Mouth feel: medium body, average carbonation. Overall: Not at its freshest. Drinkable.

As Kanzler Imperial Doppelbock. Appearance: Clear Deep gold with a good off-white head. Aroma: Wet grain, candy, apple seeds, light caramel & alcohol. Taste: As discribed above. Light to medium sweet. Low bitterness. Empty ending. Mouth feel: Medium plus body. soft to average carbonation. Overall: Pretty a miss, if you really have Doppelbock in mind. Still, not the worse Kanzler release.
