Description
It all started in a shed, no joke! Ian, started home brewing in his garden shed, building recipes inspired by his loved beers. We loved it, our mates loved it, the shed was bursting at the seams, it was time to move to bigger premises. In 2013 Brick was born, and we started building a brewery in a railway arch behind Peckham Rye station, SE London.

Bottle shared at chriso’s May 2014 tasting - London. Pours lightly hazy pale yellow with a white foam head. The aroma has doughy wheat, light yeast, citrus, faint glue. Light sweet flavor with bitter hay, biscuity wheat, lemon peel. Light in body with fine carbonation. Moderately dry on the finish with light crispy and biscuity wheat. OK.

Keg at Brick Brewery, 05/07/14. Hazed golden orange with moderate off white spotting and edgework. Nose is lightly toasted malts, bitter orange, tangerine, juicy hops, light grapefruit. Taste comprises orange pith, mineral bite, grapefruit zest, straw, earthy hop pangs. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, hop bitterness in the close. Refreshing enough SIPA but not top draw in the style category.

Bottle at home, picked up from the brewery, 01/07/14. Clear golden, moderate off white covering, light carbonation bubbledom evident. Nose is pale malt, diacetyl, buttery, grass, apple orchard. Taste recovers a little, bready and pale malts, grassy, light apple skins, mineral notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp and refreshing close. I chugged this back on a warm summers evening, not a great beer by any means, light infection I imagine but cold and thirst quenching none the less. A lower score perhaps in the winter!?

Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry. Mild fine carbonation. Apples on the nose, oh oh! Smooth malt. Apples morphing in to mild marmalade. Soft finish. Way to green and needs to be much crisper.

Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and a little crisp. Light malt, touch of cream. Unexpected touch of smoke! Very light hops - mild tangerine and moderate bitterness. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Drinkable but I don’t want smoke in an IPA and I do want more hops!
