Bottle picked up at Meny (Frederiksberg) and drunk at home - black with a tan head. Dark sweet and just lightly roasted malty, notes of cocoa and hints of coffee roast, liquorice and some vanilla coming through, creamy smooth mouthfeel and nice body, sweet dark malty lingering close. Nice one but prefer the original.

Bottle. Pours hazy reddish chestnut brown with medium white head. Aroma is malt, light caramel, bread, malt syrup, iron and hazelnuts. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and faint acidic. Body is watery with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, hazelnuts and hints of raisins. Appearance: -1 for the dull label

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Clear deep golden, mid sized head. Aroma of grapefruit and tea. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and bready with grapefruit, butter, minerals and tea. Long bitter finish.

Bottle, 9.2%. Very dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, liquorice, vanilla and spices? Flavour is roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, liquorice, vanilla, sweet, spices, and medium bitter.

Bottle. It's dark brown to black in the glass, with a dense, beige head. Some curtains. The aroma has a delicious blend of roasted, chocolatey malts and piney hops, with some notes of coffee, toffee and citrus zest. Orange or clementine zest. It has a burnt touch too, but quite balanced. It's full-bodied and nicely carbonated, semi-dry and with a good hoppy bitterness. Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee grit hints, some licorice and toffee in the flavor, along with a good dash of pine cones and orange zest. Lasting, quite dry, finish with a bit more focus on licorice than initially. Some salty hints too, if that's not just a product of my imagination, thinking about salt when I sense licorice. Anyway, although not your typical Black IPA/Cascadian Dark, I think it's a bit too malt driven for that, it's sure a fine brew that I'm gonna buy more of on my next visit to Denmark. 231216

Bottle from Superbrugsen. Almost clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy - straw. Flavor is medium sweet. Sweet finish. 111223
