Bottled. A copper colored beer with a huge orange-beige head. The aroma is sweet with a dusty hop note combined with citrus, nuts, and caramel - the citrus being quite sharp. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of toffee, but also nuts, and some citrus, leading to a dry nutty end with a light touch of metal. The mouthfeel is very sparkling due to a high carbonation level, which together with the alcohol note reminds me a bit of a glass of champagne.

Bottled. A dark red-brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, and some burnt notes, combined with light citrusy notes. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of caramel, and crystalized sugar, as well as some burnt notes of both malt and caramel, combined with lighter notes of dusty hops and some citrus, leading to a dry end. The alcohol is felt in the background.

On tap at the Wharf, Aalborg. It pours jet black, looks clear, with a small tan head. A bit weak aroma, but quite heavy roasted, with licorice and some cigarette smoke. Heavily roasted flavor with some cigarette smoke and hops. There are notesof coffee and chocolate as well. Full body and a long burnt finish with bitterness. A lovely porter. Should get it’s place in the ordinary line-up from Thisted. (070331)

Bottled. Copper to golden in color, with an off-white head. Caramelized and hoppy in the nose, leaving expectations of bitterness in the mouth. And it ful-fills those expectations quite well, and balances it with caramel-flavors. It has a medium body. I think it is maybe a tad too bitter, but a decent beer it is. Not something I would expect from Thisted though. (070216)

33 cL bottle. Pours black with huge creamy brown head. Aroma is dark and roasted with some sweetness to it. Taste is stunning: chocolate, coffee, liqourice and roasted malts in nice yet strong blend. Does have some off hop note I cannot make out which sticks out with the liqourice. These notes do not seem in good balance with the rest - but the beer would presumeably be cloying to drink without. End is dry and roasted with chocolate.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours completely black and opaque with a handsome, tall, dense, beige head that leaves some lacework. Rather burned aroma. Good, full body, with fruity and lightly vinous notes and a marked malt bitterness. 080307
