Regelmatig gedronken deze reis, eerste maal op 20-6-2018 in ZhongDian in restaurant waar geen Engels wordt gesproken. Superlicht van kleur, geen schuim (lag misschien aan glas), waterig.

Bright yellow colour. No head. Very lemony aroma - candyish. Less sugary than the Cool Lemon, with more slightly grainy lager taste underneath. Finish is fruity, slightly grassy. Body is thin.

Pours yellow with no head. Sweetish lemon-lime aroma. Crisp lemon fades to very sugary lemon, with little beer character. As alcopop it wouldn’t be too bad, but it is unbalanced as a fruit beer.

Pineapple beers are actually quite popular in China and there are several brands. I’ve given them a pass until now but felt I had to try at least one. It is like a thin, fizzy pineapple juice. There is no beer character. When I can buy a pineapple down the road, why bother?

Surprisingly, this is not my first rose-flavoured beer. However, it is rather unfair to compare this with a delightful beverage like Alameda Spring Rose Doppelbock. This is merely a golden lager with a rose flavouring added. It is quite sweet, a little bit heavy and smells and tastes predominantly of roses. It’s not awful, but it sure isn’t for me.
