Glutenfree IPA hopped with Polaris, Citra and Simcoe, by this Stockholm craft brewery named after one of Sweden's most famous historical beer brands. Bottle at the marina in Bromma at Lake Mälaren. Medium sized, moussey, eggshell-white, stable head on a misty apricot blonde robe with ochre tinge. Aroma of toasted garlic, armpit sweat or overripe onion, spice crackers, green kiwi, marihuana, dry peppercorns, cucumber peel, stale grapefruit juice. Crisp onset, quite dry, sharply carbonated with an even somewhat numbing effect; vague hints of green apricot and unripe banana, moving into a smooth, cracker-like but still somewhat 'fluffy'-bready maltiness - the breadiness doubtlessly coming mostly from the yeast though. Carbonation-induced minerality runs through the whole, ending in a green unripe guava-, toasted garlic- and pink grapefruit-tinged hoppiness, providing a long, tonic water-ish, extensive bitterness, a bit powdery - but nowhere becoming harsh. Oldskool while at the same time 'timeless' kind of 'generically American style' IPA, balanced and easygoing. Does what it is supposed to do.

Old-fashioned IPA hopped with Centennial supported by Mosaic, from the craft brewery in southern Stockholm that only opened in 2014 but named itself after the 19th-century Carnegie Porter, one of Sweden's most famous historical beers, now owned by Carlsberg. From tap at a small marina on the shore of Lake Mälaren - a stunningly beautiful setting. Frothy, pillowy, membrane-lacing, egg-white head over a hazy peach blonde robe with old-golden hue and lone strings of sparkling. Aroma of dried grapefruit peel, toasted garlic, hot olive oil, some sweaty dankness, dry crackers, something lightly sulphurous, grass, bread crust, wormwood, old dry marihuana, minerals. Clean and crisp onset, some very restrained sweetness reminiscent of green pear and unripe peach, fizzy and minerally carb running through the whole, with a full, somewhat oily mouthfeel. Bread-crusty, dry-cracker-like malts strongly bittered by wormwoody, peppery, grapefruity and ever so slightly oniony hoppiness, stretching out extensively over the root of the tongue - powerful, almost tonic water-ish, but perhaps lacking a bit in zesty or spicy aromas retronasally (even if toasted garlic, grapefruit pith and marihuana associations linger a bit after swallowing). Unspectacular for an IPA loosely intended as a West Coast 'original style' example, a tad too sulphurous too, but certainly tasty and effective. Enjoyed it - but the green setting on a Swedish lakeshore may have influenced the experience...

Brown colour, mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, some toasted and mild nutty tones with some mild floral and smoky tones too. Flavour is smoky, nutty, some mild meaty tones with a bit earth to it. A bit watery and thin as for the palate.

Thanks omhper! Hazy yellowish golden colour, small white foamy head. Aroma is citrus, pineapple, some mild sweet malts and a bit nectary tones. Flavour is pineapple, mango, some sweetness and a bit herbal tones. Actually has a slight diesel edge to it, but otherwise quite nice. A bit strange as Nya Carnegie usually has atleast somewhat drinkable beers. This was on the border of being a bit too much "Diesel" like burning elements to it.
