Description
Baylands was started back in 2012 as a small brewery based on Baylands Drive in Newlands, Wellington. The brewery was in a double garage under the house with a 300L system but quickly outgrew that space and moved to Petone in 2014 with a 1200L brewery.
The first Baylands beer was launched at Goldings Free Dive, a popular freehouse dive bar in Wellington in May 2013 and it's been full steam ahead since then.
We now have a 2500L brewery in the heart of vibrant Petone with a large tasting room with 30+ taps of beer, wine, spirits and great bbq style burger & taco menu.

On tap at the Lumsden. Pours clear gold with a lasting head. Peach, apple, pear, light citrus, bit of biscuit, oddly creamy finish. Heavy body is a bit much. Not great.

On tap at 16 Tun. Pours slightly hazy orange. Orange peel, lime, nectarine, chalky, not much in the way of fruit juice flavours and a long chalky finish. Not a great body. Pretty far off the mark. Expect better from a usually quite consistent brewery.

Tap at Brewers Co-operative. Bit hazy light golden with white head. Strong dank hops, mango, papaya, pineapple, grassy, light green onion, soft sweet citrus. Nice fruits, dank hops, and a light dry malt character. Medium sweet and a bit over medium bitter. Medium bodied.
