Pale amber, a bit murky, medium head. Medium bitterness, a bit yeasty. Some phenols -ferm is a bit off here. The irony of citing hops as a preservative, but do they really save a beer when the ferm is wonky?

Super sweet but not in a rich, well-decocted sort of way. Phenolic, with a bit of malt. Not all the way there. Or really even on the same road.

Sweet, doesn't bring the adjuncts. Requires balance. Just sweet, one-dimensional, not sure what they're really aiming for.

Poured up at AZ Strong Beer Fest 2017 where it exhibits a nice mahogany colored body that supports a mocha like head of foam. The aroma offers up dark roasted malts, a bit of burnt malts and then a cookie sort of chocolate brownie sensation. The taste delivers smooth roasty malts that is rimmed thinly by a burnt malt sensation. To midway a bit more sweetness bubbles to the surface as well as a tasty light dark chocolate note. The sweetness might be the vanilla influence but it’s hard to really pick out vanilla here. All in all pretty nice.
