Draught at Lulu’s, 3/8/17.
Hmmm, well it’s not very hazy and it’s an odd amber color, as well....Beige head atop is medium-sized and rapidly receding.
Was worried this had prematurely oxidized, but I guess they just added a lot of specialty malt for color. Personally I like the look of a very pale golden IPA, but it makes little difference. The nose has doughy yeast, creamy oat and soft, fuzzy, peach and light pineapple-like hop notes. Hints of cherry, honey and juicy mango, as well. Light, soft, sufficient.
In the mouth it’s mildly bitter focusing on highly fruity hops and light bread and dough from yeast and malt. Peaches, pears, apples, cherries and mangos comprise most of the hop notes. Not as soft in texture as would be expected based on all the oat. Rather dry, somewhat thin/watery with light dough lingering. Almost wonder if they shipped the wrong beer or tapped the wrong keg.

Poured from a 12 oz can dated 02/15/2017. Aroma is very hoppy with nice pineapple, mango and passion fruit notes as well as some guava, melon and mandarin. Light resinous notes with some lemon citrus notes from the acidity and some hints of grain. Pours a hazy, dull golden straw color with a small, thin white head that recedes immediately to the edges where a faint film lingers for just a bit before disappearing. No lacing or legs. Flavor is somewhat acidic with some light grain and wheat notes and a touch of sweetness. Light bitterness with moderately strong hop notes. Really solid tropical fruit notes with pineapple being most prevalent. Lighter mango, passion fruit, melon and guava with some citrus notes as well. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a really nice dry hopped berliner. I really love this style of beer and wish more breweries did them. The acidity really accentuates the fruitiness of the hops.

12oz can at Rose’s Luxury in Washington DC. Poured a hazy yellow color, small, slightly creamy, slightly foamy off-white head. Aroma was lots of pleasant floral notes, light herbal character. Citrus zest. Light acid, tart character is pleasant. Slight dry hopping detected, though wife actually didn’t mind the hop presence. Tasty.

Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy copper color with just a cap of a white head that slid into oblivion. No lacing.
The aroma had some danky sweet onion to light weed and then some sticky grassy to piney bittersweet notes, nice and fresh.
The flavor yields to a nice pure bittersweet blend between sweet to danky to bitter. Malt backbone coming out nice and balanced and clean. Semi-sticky notes of pine, and danky sweet onion rolls into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium almost leaning towards the medium side. Carbonation felt spot on. ABV felt right where it should be.
Overall, nicely done danky sweet and bitter AIPA that I would love to have again.
