Got in a BIF from oline73. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 9/1/2016. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tart/sour lemon, lime, grapefruit, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, papaya, green apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, bread, hay, straw, grass, light lacto funk, and floral/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale malt notes; with great strength. Flavors of huge tart/sour lemon, lime, grapefruit, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, papaya, green apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, bread, hay, straw, grass, light lacto funk, and floral/yeast earthiness. Moderate tart/sourness and light peppery yeast spice on the finish; with lingering notes of sour lemon, lime, grapefruit, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, papaya, green apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, bread, hay, straw, and floral/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/sourness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from acidity as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately acidic/creamy/grainy, and lightly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.4%. Overall this is an outstanding Berliner weisse! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical hops, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the balanced acidity. A highly enjoyable offering.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is fairly fruity with a moderate blueberry note as well as some light lemon. Hints of phenolics and cheese with some light wheat and cracker malt notes. Pours a reddish purple with a medium large, fairly thin, pink head that recedes pretty quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with some light citrus notes and moderate malt notes of wheat and cracker. Some light yogurt and cheese notes. Moderately strong blueberry flavors with a hint of tannins and phenolcis from the berry skins. Some light sweetness lingers in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice Blueberry berliner. Tons of berry character with some light malt notes and acidity. Just some light phenolics to add complexity.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is fairly fruity with moderate malt notes of wheat and cracker. Moderate fruitiness with quite a bit of prickly pear, but also some light citrus and pineapple notes. Pours a bright, pink color with a bit of an orange hue and a medium large, thin, white head that immediately recedes and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor has a medium light to moderate acidity with moderate malt notes of wheat and cracker. Medium fruit notes with prickly pear, citrus and pineapple. Some light sweetness with lingering wheat and prickly pear notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an pretty nice beer but not my favorite from this series. A but too malt forward for the softer fruit notes.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is very fruity with a ton of passion fruit character. Light grain notes and a bit of citrus and acidity. Slightly poopy. Pours a hazy, bright golden orange with a medium large, moderately thick and frothy, white head that steadily recedes to a thin film that lingers. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately acidic with some lemon notes as well as some light wheat and cracker malt character. Low bitterness. Medium high passion fruit notes without the poopiness that was in the aroma. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a pretty nice beer. Lots of fruit notes and some balanced acidity. Pretty full bodied for such a small beer.

Poured from an undated 16 oz can. Aroma is moderately malt with some light caramel and slightly toasted bread with some biscuit and cracker as well. Medium light fruity notes with some stone fruit, pear, tropical fruit and citrus. Pours a slightly hazy, copper orange with a medium small, medium thin, white head that recedes steadily and a bit quickly to the edges where it lingers for just a bit. No lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly malt forward with some toasted bread, caramel, dark biscuit and cracker notes. Medium high bitterness. Medium hop notes with a lot of grapefruit, hop resin and a bit of pine. Some light tropical fruit and citrus notes. Some lingering malt and bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a decent, clean IPA. It’s boring and too malt forward with lacking hop character though. Not sure how fresh this beer is.
