Pint at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark, brown color, with a small, beige head. The aroma is heavy earth, cocoa, caraway, and walnuts. Sweet and malty, and a touch of bitterness. Easy and solid.

Pint at the restaurant. Pours black, with a medium, frothy, tan head. The aroma is pine, coffee, orange peel, anise, and bread. Sweet and malty, with a sharp, abrasive bitterness. This is a simple and solid beer.

GABF 2015. Dark brown with some red. Thick, heavy palate. tons of malt and earth, brown sugar. with the full palate and the malt flavor, I thought this was a solid beer.
