Description
Champion brewing company is Virginia's most progressive brewery, producing a wide variety of ales in two locations: our downtown Charlottesville tap room and our Belmont production facility. Our production brewery known as the 'missile factory' produces our core and seasonal beers on a 30-barrel brewhouse, at a current operating capacity of 15,000 barrels per year. Our original tap room produces constantly changing and innovative seasonals, one-offs, and barrel-aged wild beers.

Keg at Beer Run. Pours a clear golden with a large creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of melon, candied citrus, herbal, resin, mild piney hops, cotton candy, pale malt. The taste is bitter resin, melon, citrus hops, pale malt, cotton candy. Medium bodied, mild lingering bitterness. Doesn’t quite deliver what it promises.

Keg at Beer Run. Pours a clear pale amber with a thin frothy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, honey, mild herbal notes. The taste is honey, toasted malt, mild floral hops. Thin-medium bodied, low carbonation. 100th ESB rating!

Keg at the brewery, Halloween 2014. Pours a murky pink-red with a thin creamy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of floral notes, berries, tea, wheat, mild yeast finish. The taste is floral notes, berries, citrus, wheat, pineapple. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering spice.

Keg at Sedona Charlottesville, 10/14/14. Pours a dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts, grape, wine. The taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla, red wine in the finish. Medium bodied, low carbonation, moderate booze.

4 oz draft pour at Spacebar. Clear golden yellow with off-white head. Aromas of rye, citrus, caramel. Tastes of rye, citrus, spices, floral notes, caramel. Medium body with a dry finish. Tasty.

Draft pour at Novemberfest 2014. Poured a clear ruby color with a small off-white head. Aroma was spicy rye notes, some juicy citrus. Flavor was nice grapefruit citrus notes, with some grassy character, and a nice rye spice.

Draft pour at Novemberfest 2014. Poured a hazy pale yellow color with a fizzy white head. Aroma was tartness, green apples. Flavor was puckering tartness, apple, light grain character. Pretty tasty.
